Storage Management Appliance Software V2.0 User Guide

Modifying and Deleting Users

The Users page allows you to change the properties for a Management Appliance

user account. If you are assigned a User or Operator privilege level, the Users

page displays only your own user account. As a user assigned the Administrator

privilege level, the Users page displays a list of all existing Management

Appliance users. Refer to “

User Privilege Levels

,” on page 23 for more

information about this topic.
Regardless of your privilege level you can use the following procedure to modify

properties for a user.
1. Click Settings on the primary navigation bar, and then click Users to display

the Users page with a list of Management Appliance users.

2. Choose the user you want to modify on the list.
3. Use the task buttons on the right to choose a task. Button availability depends

on your assigned privilege level.
Delete—Removes the selected user from the list of Management

Appliance users. Click OK on the confirmation page. (Administrator

privilege level)

Set a Password—Set the selected user’s password. Click this button to

display the Set Password page (

Figure 23

), enter the password

information, and click OK. You have the option of leaving the password

field empty. This feature is not available for imported users. (All privilege

levels)

Properties—Use tabs on the properties page to view or modify the user’s

settings and click OK. See “

Setting Additional User Properties

,” on

page 29 for more information. (All privilege levels)

Notification—Set up or modify event notification settings for the selected

user. When finished working with the event notifications, click Back.

(Administrator and Operator privilege levels)

In all cases, you are returned to the Users page.

4. You can continue working with other users or click Back to return to the

Settings page.
