5 Performing External Storage
Operations
External Storage enables you to perform the operation to access the external volume, such as setting the
port attribute to the external port, and mapping the external volume as an internal volume.
This chapter describes the procedure of setting external volume using External Storage.
Overview of Setting Operations
The following figure illustrates the flow chart of the setting operations, which make external volumes
usable from a host, by using External Storage.

The outlined procedure for making the external volumes usable from a host is as follows.
1.
Prepare a volume in the external storage system.
2.
Set the port and system parameters for the external storage system.
