Follow the on-screen instructions to update the
ink levels of the colors of ink you filled.

Important:

Be sure to update the ink levels after refilling
the ink.

If you have refilled 2 or more colors of ink,
select all the colors you refilled and update
their ink levels.

If you do not update the ink levels, the ink
levels will not change even though the ink has
been refilled.

Replacing the
Maintenance Box

The maintenance box is to absorb ink consumed when
Print Head Cleaning is executed.

If a replace the maintenance box message appears,
follow the steps below to replace it.

Important:

After removing the maintenance box, replace it
immediately, and do not leave the maintenance
box cover open.

Obtain a new maintenance box and supplied
bag.

Important:

Do not touch the chip on the maintenance
box. Doing so may prevent normal operation
and printing.

Check that the power light is lit.

When the power light is flashing, the printer is
operating. Wait until all operations have
stopped.

Open the front cover.

Place your hand as shown in the illustration,
and pull out the interior of the printer until it
stops.

E

Open the maintenance box cover.

F

Remove the maintenance box.

As shown in the illustration, pull it out and
then lift it up.
