Subject Recog in AF (still image/movie)
Sets whether to recognize and focus on subjects in the focus area when autofocusing.
Menu item details
On:
Focuses on a subject with priority if it has been recognized inside or around the designated focus area.
Off:
Does not recognize subjects when autofocusing.
Hint
By combining the [
Subject Recog in AF] function with [
Focus Area] → [Tracking], you can maintain the focus on a moving
subject.
When [
Subject Recog in AF] is assigned to the desired key using [
Custom Key/Dial Set.] or [
Custom Key/Dial Set.],
you can switch the [
Subject Recog in AF] function on or off by pressing the key.
By assigning [Recognition Off on Hold] or [Recog. Off on Toggle] to the desired key with [
Custom Key/Dial Set.], you can
switch [
Subject Recog in AF] to [Off] temporarily using the key.
Note
If the camera does not recognize the subject specified with [
Recognition Target] in or around the designated focus area, it will
focus on another recognizable subject.
When the shooting mode is set to [Intelligent Auto], [
Subject Recog in AF] is locked to [On].
