Orientation of Original Document
Specifying the orientation of the original document on the platen. This is accomplished by telling the
copier the direction to which the top side of the original faces.
1 Access the Machine Default screen. (For instructions, refer to Accessing the Machine Default
Screen on page 3-20.)
2 Press [S] or [T] to select Orig. Set
Direction and press [Change #].
3 Select [Top Edge] ([Back Edge]) when
the top of the original is facing towards
the rear side of the copier or [Left Top
Edge] ([Left top corner]) when the
original is facing towards the left side of
the copier.
4 Press [Close]. The touch panel will return to the Machine Default screen.
Setting Sleep Timer Timeout
The Sleep timer conserves energy where there is no operation on the operation panel or data is
received. This predetermines the period of time before the copier enters sleeping.
The Sleep timer can be set from 1 to 240 minutes in 1-minute increments.
NOTE: If the copier is used frequently, we recommend using a longer timeout. If it is used
infrequently, use a shorter timeout.

2 Press [S] or [T] to select Sleep mode
