Playing out rundowns using Xplay
Automatic playout mode

UTOMATIC
playout mode allows you to output the playlist’s content sequentially according
to the time specifications set out in the O
FFSET

OTE
Once the playout of the rundown has begun in Automatic mode, updates cannot be made
to the rundown until the playout has stopped.
To play out a playlist in Auto mode:
1.
Open the rundown in Xplay (see

Verify that Xplay is in Automatic playout mode (see

Verify that Xplay is connected to the desired playout device(s) (see
).
4.
Select the desired starting point for the playout by double-clicking on the playlist item
that will be first to go to air.
The playlist item is cued is displayed in the Preview pane on the right-side.

Use the following buttons to control the playout of the rundown:

command from the Xplay menu to clear the playlist (remove
the current cued and/or on air status). Similarly, you can clear the Preview and device panes
by clicking the C

override buttons above each of the display panes.
Click the P
LAY
button to start the playout of the playlist from the currently
cued playlist item. If no item is currently cued, then playout will be begin with
the first item in the playlist. As the playlist is being played out, the clock
counts down the time until the next playlist item is brought to air and the
playlist item is displayed on the device’s display pane.
Click the P
AUSE
button to temporarily halt the playlist’s playout. Clicking the
P
AUSE
button again resumes the playlist from where you paused.
Click the S
TOP
button to terminate the playlist’s playout. Clicking the P
LAY
button after the playlist has been stopped restarts the playlist’s playout from
at the cued playlist item.
