Clip Assets: Opening and editing the Mark In/Out settings
Setting the Trim In and/or Trim Out points
The Trim values allow you to crop the video so that the playout begins and ends at the
specified locations, without changing the original clip asset. There are two (2) ways of
setting the Mark In and Mark Out values for the clip:

The Mark In/Out Editor has handles that you drag along the video track’s timeline to set
the Trim In and Trim Out values (figure
8-8 ).

• Drag and drop the current position line (yellow line) to the desired frame, then right-click
and select either the S
ET T RIM I N command or S ET T RIM O UT command (figure 8-9 ).

When dragging the handles, be sure to use the various visual cues (C URRENT POSITION ,
F ROM /T O , D URATION , and the preview panel) as references, for determining the precise
frames for these settings.
