Playing out rundowns using Xplay
device’s connection status, as well as override buttons for controlling the
playout of the playlist items on that device (e.g. C
UE , T AKE C LEAR ). This
allows you to take selected playlist items to air on the channel of your choice.
• O N A IR -P REVIEW : This mode is commonly used when Xplay is only connected
to a single device with a single keyer. The upper display pane shows the
playlist item that is currently on air and the lower pane previews the item that
has been cued as next-to-air.
Opening a rundown in Xplay
To open a rundown in Xplay:
1.
Select the F ILE >O PEN P LAYLIST command. Or, select the O PEN E XISTING P LAYLIST
button .
The O
PEN P LAYLIST window appears (figure 11-3 ).

2. Navigate through the R UNDOWNS root category, until the desired rundown is
listed/displayed.
3. Double-click the desired Rundown’s name/proxy.
The rundown opens as a playlist in Xplay’s Playlist Window.

You can also open a rundown using the Xplay’s Asset Browser. If the Asset Browser is not
already displayed, select V
IEW >A SSET B ROWSER . Navigate through the R UNDOWNS root
category until you find the rundown’s name in the Asset Browser. Double-click the
rundown’s name and the rundown is loaded as a playlist in Xplay’s Playlist Window.
