Video clip assets (Clips) that are stored on the Xmedia Server can be inserted directly into
a story (see
page 9-5 and page 10-3 for instructions). Before adding a clip to a story,
however, you may want to use the Mark In/Out Editor to trim the clip. You can do this by
setting the clip’s Mark In and Mark Out values, without modifying the original clip file.
When Xnews is used in an ENPS system, the Mark In/Out Editor is a standalone window
that provides the additional functionality of previewing the clips playout (figure
8-1 ). When
Xnews is integrated within an iNEWS system, the Mark In/Out Editor is embedded in the
Xnews interface and it does not allow you to preview the clip’s playout.
