Clip Assets: Opening and editing the Mark In/Out settings
Previewing the clip in the standalone Mark In/Out Editor
It is often useful to preview the changes that you make before you commit to them.
Therefore, using the Current Position slider you can preview the playout of a particular
instance of the clip in the Preview pane. As well, you can use the transport controls to play
back the clip including any edits that you have made using the Mark In/Out Editor.

The ability to preview the playout of clip assets is only available on the standalone Mark
In/Out Editor used in ENPS. It is not available in the embedded version for iNEWS, however
you can preview the clip using the software CG (see
“Enabling the Playout Preview setting”
“Creating a clip template in Xstudio for clip playout” on page 4-7
).
To preview a particular frame of a clip in the Mark In/Out Editor Preview Panel:
1.
Move your pointer to the current position line (thin yellow line) that appears on the video
track.
As you hover over the current position line it changes into a directional line
.
2.
Drag the current position’s directional line along the video track. As you move the line,
notice that the C

P
OSITION
field above the video track updates and displays the
exact frame location (timecode) of where the line is along the video track. As well, the
preview panel updates and displays the video content at the location of the line (figure

).
3.
When the C
URRENT
P
OSITION
field displays the desired time, or you see the desired
frame in the preview panel, drop the line on the video track.
The content of the particular video frame where the line rests remains visible in the
preview panel.
