LAYING OUT RUNDOWNS USING

PLAY
Xplay is the Vertigo Suite’s playout management software that allows you to control and
playout the rundown that was created using Xnews and your newsroom computer system.
When pages and clips are saved to a rundown’s story, the rundown is saved on the Xmedia
Server. Xplay is able to use the rundown as a playlist, which you can manually or
automatically take the playlist to air.
While complete instructions for using Xplay are available in the Xplay User Manual, this
chapter offers you an overview of the Xplay interface and offers you “quick start” instructions
for using Xplay to control and playout the contents of a rundown to a device.
