Clip Assets: Opening and editing the Mark In/Out settings
Locating and opening a clip asset using the Xnews
Asset Browser
Video clip assets are stored on the Xmedia Server and therefore they can be opened during
an Xnews session using the Asset Browser. All of the video clip assets are stored within the
C
LIPS
root category in the Asset Browser. Navigate through the hierarchical subcategories
and the clip’s proxy or name appears in the Asset Gallery.
Before you can open a clip in Xnews however, a story belonging to a rundown must be open
in the newsroom computer system interface. If not, the clip will not open and an error
appears in the lower part of the Xnews interface (figure
).

To locate and open a clip asset in using the Xnews Asset Browser in ENPS:
1.
Open Xnews and expand the Asset Browser (see
).
2.
Select and navigate through the C
LIPS
root category until the desired clip is listed or
displayed (proxy) in the Asset Gallery.
3.
Double-click the clip asset in the Asset Gallery and the clip opens in the M
ARK

), which allows you to edit the clip’s start and stop times. The Mark
In/Out Editor in an ENPS system also allows you to playout a preview of the clip (see
“Preview and editing the clip’s mark in/out settings” on page 8-4
