Although multiple modes/tasks may be created, only one mode/task can run at a given
time. If a mode is selected, the Click 500 will run that mode until interrupted; if a task is
selected, the Click 500 will run the task and at completion return to the previous mode (see
Figure 4.2).
Note
Once you have entered the menu selection process, the previous operating mode or
task is suspended. In other words, no modes or tasks are running during the menu
selection process.

Figure 4.3 shows a timeline of the Click 500 switching between modes and tasks. The Click
500 starts in Mode 1 and continues to run until (1) it is interrupted by the user entering the
menu selection process. Mode 2 is then selected (2) from the menu and runs until (3) it is
interrupted by the user again. Task A is selected (4) and runs to completion at which point
the device restarts (5) Mode 2.
