Process
System Overview
When a transaction is initiated at the Online TopKAT system, communication is initiated to the
PC Online software database to authorize or deny the transaction. If the Online TopKAT
system is operating in “Fallback” mode, the user has to enter additional information on the
transaction type to proceed. Transaction information is collected in the PC Online database
and in a Rawtrans.dat file. This file is retrieved at user-specified intervals, by a host computer
system, for further processing. An MS-Excel spreadsheet containing user-specific information
is updated with transaction information from PC Online. Each Online TopKAT communicates
with the PC Online through a direct-connect cable or wireless modem.
