Installing the Online Software
To install the Online Software, proceed as follows:

Power on your computer and start Microsoft
®
Windows.

Insert the PC TopKAT Online software CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.

Select Start.

From the Start menu, select Run.

In the Open box of the Run window, type D:\Setup.
Note: On most computers, the CD-ROM drive is “D”. If your CD-ROM drive is not “D”, type
the appropriate letter.

Select OK. Follow the on-screen instructions for installation.
Uninstalling the PC Online Software
To uninstall the PC TopKAT Online software, proceed as follows:

Log on to the PC as the ADMINISTRATOR.

If the PC Online software is running, close the application.
3
Stop the Interbase Guardian and Interbase Server Services.
Note: You must be logged on to the PC as the ADMINISTRATOR to stop services.
To stop the Interbase Guardian Service, proceed as follows:

Select Start > Settings > Control Panel to navigate to Services.

In the Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools > Services.

Select Interbase Guardian from the list of options and then select Stop.

Follow the on-screen instructions. When still in Services, to stop the Interbase Server, select
Interbase Server from the list of options and then select Stop. Follow the on-screen
instructions.
Following are the login requirements:
• To install the PC TopKAT Online application on a Windows 2000 Professional or
Windows XP Professional PC, you must be logged on to the PC as the
ADMINISTRATOR user or a user who is a member of the ADMINISTRATOR user
account.
• If you are not sure as to how to log on as one of these users, contact the site’s PC
support person for administrator login rights.
• To run the PC TopKAT Online Software on Windows 2000 Professional or Windows
XP Professional, log on to your PC as the Administrator or a Power user.
