2 Insert new pump tubing
• Insert the new pump tubing 94 in the tubing cartridge 96 as
shown in Figure 17. The orange-yellow stopper 95 must click
into the corresponding holder on the left-hand side of the
tubing cartridge.
• Place the tubing cartridge 96 on mounting pin 40 and press
down on the right-hand side until snap-action lever 98 clicks
into position on holding clamp 50. Take care that no kinks are
formed in the pump tubing.
3 Set contact pressure
• Switch on peristaltic pump.
• Press contact pressure lever 97 upwards until the solution
just starts to be drawn in. Then press contact pressure lever
upwards until it clicks once more to obtain optimal contact
pressure.
• Switch off peristaltic pump.
4.2.6 Replacing the UV lamp
Proceed as follows to replace the UV lamp:
The UV lamp becomes hot when used for a long time! Allow it to cool
down before you start to replace it.
Avoid contact with the surface of the lamp! Residues reduce the
light transmittance and may also be burned into the glass and cause
permanent damage.
If it becomes dirty the lamp surface should be cleaned with alcohol
before it is used again.
1 Insert lamp
• Insert UV lamp 153 into the "Opening for UV lamp" 155 at the
bottom of lamp cooling housing 9.
2 Screw on fastening ring
• Screw down attachment ring 154. The attachment ring forms
part of the 844.
3 Connect cable
• Plug "UV lamp connection cable" 11 into " UV lamp
connection" 12 of the 844 UV/VIS Compact IC.
