3 Insert separating column

• Push column 113 into the holding clips and fasten column

inlet capillary 47/110 to the inlet of the column (bottom) using

a compression fitting 64 6.2744.010.

with 2.844.0110 without post column reactor:

• Attach capillary 122 (to the detector) to the outlet of the

column (top) with a compression fitting

64 6.2744.010.

• This will be attached to the detector later (see Section 2.9)

with 2.844.0120 with post column reactor:

• Attach capillary 123 (to the post column reactor) to the

outlet of the column (top) with a compression fitting 64

6.2744.010.

• This will be attached to inlet "eluent in" 104 of the post

column reactor later (see below, step 6).

4 Close column heating

• Refasten cover 117 onto the column heating using the two

knurled screws

5 Rinse column

• Place a beaker under the eluent flow outlet.
• Open the software window for manual operation.
• If necessary, set the

Flow rate

to a suitable value for the

selected column and send it to the 844 UV/VIS Compact IC

with

.

• Switch on the high-pressure pump (

IC pump

) by clicking on

and rinse the column with eluent for approx. 10 min.

• Switch off the high-pressure pump by clicking on

.

6 Connect column to post column reactor

Only with Version

2.844.0120 (with Version 2.844.0110 please go

directly to Section 2.8.4.3):

• Attach capillary 123 to inlet "eluent in" 104 of the post column

reactor with a compression fitting 64 6.2744.010.
