Connecting the separating column (installation without
column heating)
This chapter covers the two versions
2.844.0010, 2.844.0020, and
2.844.0030.
With versions 2.844.0110, 2.844.0120, 2.844.0130 you can skip this
chapter and go directly to Section 2.8.4.
With versions 2.844.0010, 2.844.0020, und 2.844.0030 without
column heating the IC separating column is mounted as follows:
1 Connect column to injection valve
• Remove the sealing caps from column 113.
• Without precolumn:
Screw the inlet end of column 113 (note flow direction) onto
column inlet capillary 47/110 at the injector using a
compression fitting
64 (6.2744.010).
• With precolumn:
See accompanying data sheet.
2 Rinse column
• Place a beaker under the column outlet.
• Open the software window for manual operation.
• If necessary, set the
Flow rate
to a suitable value for the
selected column and send it to the 844 UV/VIS Compact IC
with
.
• Switch on the high-pressure pump (
IC pump
) by clicking on
and rinse the column with eluent for approx. 10 min.
• Switch off the high-pressure pump by clicking on
.
3 Connect the column outlet
•
with 2.844.0010 without post column reactor:
• Connect connection capillary 111 to inlet "IN" 131 of flow-
through cell
•
with 2.844.0020 with post column reactor:
• Connect connection capillary 107 to the outlet of column
113 using a compression fitting 64 (6.2744.010).
• Connect connection capillary 107 to the inlet "eluent in" 100
of the post column reactor using a compression fitting 64
(6.2744.010).
•
with 2.844.0030 without post column reactor:
• Connect steel connection capillary 2.2620.160 112 to inlet
“IN”
131 of steel flow-trhough cell 62.
4 Fastening the column
• Insert one or two column holders 114 (6.2027.030,
6.2027.040 or 6.2027.050) in mounting rail 44 and attach
column
113 to the column holder.
