In RSSql v8.00.00 and FactoryTalk Transaction Manager v10.20 or
later, you can no longer enter IP addresses in the Add
Configuration Server or FactoryTalk Transaction Manager
Configuration dialog boxes. If you have been using IP addresses on
these dialog boxes in RSSql v7.50.00 and earlier, you must change
your configurations to use host names.
To resolve an IP address in a Windows Domain:
If you are working in a Windows Domain, perform the following
steps:
1. In FactoryTalk Transaction Manager, replace the IP address
with the appropriate host name.
2. At the command prompt, type:
ping
For example:
ping FactoryTalk Transaction
ManagerServerA
3. View the output of this operation and verify that the IP
address that is displayed matches the IP address that you used
in your previous FactoryTalk Transaction Manager
configuration.
