RSBizWare security is managed by a Windows service called the
Security Services Manager. The Security Services Manager makes use
of the Windows security system and is responsible for management
of the activations and user accounts for RSBizWare products across
the enterprise.
The following activation types are available for FactoryTalk Metrics
and FactoryTalk Historian Classic:
• Server activations.
• Client activations:
• Runtime client activations.
• Author client activations.
Server activations are based on the total number of activity areas that
are monitored by FactoryTalk Metrics. The activity areas may be
workcells, lines, areas, sites, and/or enterprises.
