Client activations allow users to simply view previously created
FactoryTalk Historian Classic and FactoryTalk Metrics reports
(Runtime activations), or to view previously created FactoryTalk
Historian Classic and FactoryTalk Metrics reports and to author
new FactoryTalk Historian Classic reports (Author activations).
Within a particular client activation, access is restricted by the
privileges and permissions that have been granted to security groups
and individual users.
• RSBizWare Runtime Client activations
The RSBizWare Runtime client activations allow users to view
FactoryTalk Historian Classic and FactoryTalk Metrics
reports interactively using Microsoft Internet Explorer, the
Configuration Console, or RSBizWare ActiveX controls
embedded in other applications like RSView32.
The activations are assigned to an Information Services
Manager and determine the total number of concurrent
runtime users who are permitted to login and view reports at
the same time. This allows the System Administrator greater
flexibility managing user activations.
The following types of the RSBizWare Runtime Client
activations are available:
• Single-User Runtime Client activations
Assign these activations to the Information Services
Manager in sufficient quantity to accommodate the total
number of concurrently connected Runtime users.
• Unlimited-User Runtime Client activation
Assign these activations to the Information Services
Manager if you want to allow any number of users (limited
