Chapter 6 Upgrading RSBizWare on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
During the installation, the wizard backs up existing
FactoryTalk Directories, configures a FactoryTalk Local
Directory and a FactoryTalk Network Directory.
The Configuring FactoryTalk Directory dialog box displays
the names of the files to which the existing FactoryTalk
Directories have been backed up and the name of the
Windows folder where the backup files are written. Backup
locations are also logged to FactoryTalk Diagnostics.
NOTE
The RSBizWare products make use of the Network Directory only.
To upgrade the RSBizWare suite:
1. Run the RSBizWare installation DVD. The RSBizWare
installation wizard appears.
NOTE
It is recommended that you read the RSBizWare software release
notes before installing the software. The release notes may
contain more up-to-date information than was available when
this document was published. A shortcut to the release notes is
available in the installation wizard on the RSBizWare installation
DVD.
2. On the Welcome page, click FactoryTalk Metrics >
Installation > Install RSBizWare.
3. The installation wizard checks for installed applications, and
then displays a message informing you that a previous version
of the RSBizWare suite is installed. Click OK to proceed with
the upgrade.
4. The previous version of the RSBizWare suite is removed and
the installation wizard appears.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
