Activation type Description

FactoryTalk Metrics
Author

A single-user Authoring license that is assigned to a specific
user.
With this license, you can configure a FactoryTalk Metrics
system using the Configuration Console.

FactoryTalk Historian
Author

A single-user Authoring license that is assigned to a specific
user.
With this license, you can configure a FactoryTalk Historian

Classic system using the Configuration Console.

RSBizWare Single
User Runtime
Activation

A license that allows a single user to access reports from
FactoryTalk Historian Classic or FactoryTalk Metrics (using
either Report Expert or QuickWeb.)
You can assign more than one license. If you do, the number
of users will be summed.

RSBizWare Unlimited

User Runtime
Activation

A license that allows an unlimited number of users to access

reports from FactoryTalk Historian Classic or FactoryTalk
Metrics (using either Report Expert or QuickWeb.).
You can assign only one license of this type.

3. In the Assign Activations to list, select the RSBizWare server

to which you want to assign activations.

4. Under Activation, click the activation that you want to assign

to the server.

5. Click Assign an Activation.

The activation is assigned to the server.
The number of Available activations is reduced by 1, and the
number of Assigned activations is increased by 1.
