8.4 Errors and Warnings Reporting

Errors and warnings reporting is identical in the Composer Setup Tool and the
Monitor software. The errors and warnings log show up on a separate window,
which gets focus when a fault occurs or the fault is removed. The fault can be
related to hardware failure, broken cable, insufficient gas in the cell or simply
erroneous parameter entry. Depending on the severity of the fault, the errors
are organized in Fatal Errors and Non Fatal errors. Lesser faults are reported
as warnings. The warnings reporting can be disabled through menu item Setup
>> Warning Reporting
. However, error reporting is always on.

In the case of Fatal Error, which indicates hardware problem, the instrument
must be reset via the power switch.

Non Fatal errors are recoverable when the fault disappears and requires no
user intervention.

Warnings are rather temporary conditions, which are expected to be
self-correcting. See details in the
