You hear no alert sound.
m Make sure the alert volume control in the Sound control panel is set
correctly. See “Checking Volume Controls on Your Computer” in
Chapter 5.
You don’t hear a system beep when you power-up your computer.
m There may be a delay between when the computer starts up and the
speakers become active on your AppleVision 1710
AV
Display. This delay
will not cause any problems.
You hear no sound on your AppleVision 1710
AV
speakers or headphones.
m Make sure the headphones are securely connected to the display’s sound
output port (marked by
f).
m Make sure the volume in the AppleVision Setup control panel is set above
minimum. See “Adjusting Volume, Treble, and Bass on Your Display” in
Chapter 5.
m Make sure the volume controls in the Sound control panel are set correctly.
See “Checking Volume Controls on Your Computer” in Chapter 5.
m If you have an audio CD player connected to the sound input port on your
display, make sure the volume in the Audio CD control panel is set above
minimum.
m If you have sound input equipment connected to your display, make sure
the display is selected as the sound input source on your computer. See
“Selecting a Sound Input Port on Your Computer” in Chapter 5.
m If headphones are connected, but you still want to play sound on your
AppleVision 1710
AV
speakers, make sure “Mute speakers when headphones
are connected” isn’t checked in the Sound window of the AppleVision
Setup control panel.
Headphone volume is low.
m Make sure the Headphone Volume control in the Sound window of the
AppleVision Setup control panel is set to maximum. See “Adjusting
Volume, Treble, and Bass on Your Display” in Chapter 5.
m Make sure the volume controls on your computer are set correctly. See
“Checking Volume Controls on Your Computer” in Chapter 5.
