Text basics
You can work with text in a word processing document or in a text frame. In
either case, you use the same techniques, tools, and commands to enter and
format the text.
Creating a word processing document or frame

Choose Index from the
or Help menu and scroll to the entry. Then choose a topic from
the list and click Go To Topic.

Create a text frame

Select the text tool

menu if it isn’t
visible). Then, drag the I-beam
pointer diagonally in the
working area of the document
to draw a text frame, and begin
typing.
(In a word processing
document, hold down the
Option key as you draw the
frame.)
