CAUTION: The bitmap areas that are used for TC390 are shared with Universal Replicator for z/OS. If
you use both TC390 and Universal Replicator for z/OS, use the total value of both pairs.
The type of difference management (track or cylinder): differs according to the combination of subsystems.
The differential data is stored in units of tracks or cylinders (see Table 7 ).
CAUTION: You may specify the type of difference management when you create a pair with the
Paircreate panel (see ” Creating TrueCopy volume pairs (Add Pair) ” on page 125). If an XP12000 Disk Array
is connected with XP1024 Disk Array, the type of difference management is applied as it is when you
specify the unit. If an XP12000 Disk Array is connected with an XP512 Disk Array, the differential data is
stored in units of cylinders. If an XP12000 Disk Array is connected with an XP1024 Disk Array or XP512 Disk
Array, the maximum number of pairs that you can create is the lesser number by comparing both numbers.
If an
XP12000 Disk Array is connected with an XP1024 Disk Array, the type of difference management that
you can specify depends on whether you use Remote Web Console or Business Continuity Manager.
If the XP 20000/XP24000 disk array is connected with an XP1024/XP128 disk array, the type of difference
management that you can specify depends on whether you use Remote Web Console or Business
Continuity Manager.
Remote Web Console: "Auto," "Track" and "Cylinder" can be specified.
Business Continuity Manager: "Track" and "Cylinder" can be specified. If you specified nothing, the type
of difference management will be "Cylinder."
