Select one or more CUs from the list, right-click to display the pop-up menu, and then select the CU

Option button to display the CU Option panel (

Figure 64

).

CU Option panel

The current CU options settings are displayed:
• Service SIM of Remote Copy allows you to specify whether the MCU reports the service-level

remote-copy SIMs to the hosts. (The moderate-, serious-, and acute-level SIMs are always reported to

the host.) Select Report to configure the MCU to report the service-level remote-copy SIMs to the

hosts. The Report setting should be selected for TCz disaster recovery planning. Select Not Report to

supporess service-level SIM reporting. Default setting is Not Report. See ”

SIM reporting

” on

page 187 for a description of the TCz and TCzA SIMs.

NOTE:

All service-level SIMs are logged in the SSB.LOG file on the XP12000/XP10000 SVP,

regardless of this setting.

• PPRC support allows you to specify whether the MCU generates sense information that is

compatible with IBM PPRC. This option is extremely important for TCz disaster recovery planning. If

the host does not support PPRC, select No to configure the MCU to report SIMs. If the host system

supports PPRC, select Yes to configure the MCU to generate PPRC-compatible sense information

when a TCz pair is suspended instead of a service information message (SIM). Default setting is

No. If Yes is selected, the MCU still reports moderate- and serious-level SIMs, as well as DF40 and

DF48 device SIMs. See ”

Using PPRC commands for TrueCopy

” on page 157 for further information

on PPRC suport.

NOTE:

If you plan to use the CGROUP (FREEZE/RUN) command for TCz pairs, you must select

Yes.

• SCP Delay Time specifies the state-change-pending (SCP) delay time in seconds (0 - 600 seconds,

default = 120). CGROUP/FREEZE uses the SCP state to suspend host I/Os to TCz M-VOLs (see

section ”

CGROUP (FREEZE/RUN) support

” on page 173). TCzA uses the SCP state for inflow

control to prevent cache storage overload (see

Inflow control of recordsets

” on page 31). Make

sure to set the SCP delay time after you have added all MCU-RCU paths.

NOTE:

SCP Delay Time of TrueCopy z/OS and the state-change-pending time of FlashCopy

Mirror Version 2 are the same. To determine the SCP Delay Time of TrueCopy z/OS, take into

account the fact that if you change the SCP Delay Time setting by the CU Option panel, the

state-change-pending time of FlashCopy Mirror Version 2 changes. For more information on

state-change-pending time of FlashCopy Mirror Version2, see the ShadowImge z/OS user guide.

If you specify plural CUs and the option settings of each CU are different, the boxes on the CU Option

panel are blank. If you change the settings on the CU Option panel, the settings of all specified CUs

will be the same.
