Enter a new user password at the Enter your NEW
password:
prompt. The password will be displayed as
asterisks.

Re-enter the new user password at the Re-Enter your NEW
password:
prompt. The password will be displayed as
asterisks.

To change the superuser password for the unit, do the following:
a
Access the Configuration Command Mode.
b Enter the password command at the Config:0 >> prompt.
c
Enter a new superuser password at the Enter your NEW
password:
prompt. The password will be displayed as
asterisks.
d Re-enter the new superuser password at the Re-Enter
your NEW password:
prompt. The password will be
displayed as asterisks.
Procedure 8 Accessing the MRV LX terminal server
At the management pc,

Select Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Communications
-> HyperTerminal.exe

Name the HyperTerminal Session: termserv [Enter]

Ensure that the appropriate COM port is set and that the
terminal emulation is set to VT100.
Note 1: You may be asked for the following parameters:
•
9600 baud rate
•
8 data bits / second
•
parity - None
•
stop bit - 1
•
Flow control - None
Note 2: Press Enter until you receive a log-in prompt. You
may need to press Enter several times before the prompt
appears.

Log in to the HyperTerminal: access [Enter]
Note: The letters do not appear when you type them. You are
typing them in blind.

Enter your username: admin [Enter]

To change security at the prompt, type set priv [Enter]
