Equipment Required
The following equipment is required to complete an CPCI-6115 system:

CompactPCI or compatible system enclosure
z
System console terminal
z
Operating system (and/or application software)
z
Disk drives (and/or other I/O) and controllers
The CPCI-6115 baseboards are factory-configured for I/O handling via its front panel, installed
PMCs or a rear transition module that is specifically designed for the CPCI-6115 product family.

Baseboard Preparation
This section discusses certain hardware and software tasks that may need to be performed
prior to installing the board in a CompactPCI or PICMG 2.9 compliant chassis.
2.5.1
Configuring the Hardware
To produce the desired configuration and ensure proper operation of the CPCI-6115, you may
need to carry out certain hardware modifications before installing the module.
Most options on the CPCI-6115 are software configurable. Configuration changes are made by
setting bits in control registers after the board is installed in a system. The control registers are
described in the CPCI-6115 CompactPCI Single Board Computer Programmer's Reference
Guide, and other vendor publications.
Jumpers are used to control those options that are not software configurable. These jumper
settings are described further on in this section.
Install the PMC Module (if required)
Installing PMC Modules on the CPCI-6115
Install the CPCI-6115 in the chassis.
Installing the CPCI-6115 Baseboard
Install the transition module.
