IP U NICAST R OUTING
V ERIFYING THE IP U NICAST R OUTING C ONFIGURATION
Use the show iproute command to display the current configuration of IP unicast
routing for the switch, and for each VLAN. The show iproute command displays the
currently configured routes, and includes how each route was learned.
Additional verification commands include the following:
• show iparp
Displays the IP ARP table of the switch.
• show ipfdb
Displays the hosts that have been transmitting or receiving packets, and the port and
VLAN for each host.
• show ipconfig
Displays configuration information for one or more VLANs.
C ONFIGURING DHCP/BOOTP R ELAY
Once IP unicast routing is configured, you can configure the Summit to forward
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) or BOOTP requests coming from clients
on subnets being service by the Summit and going to hosts on different subnets. This
feature can be used in various applications, including DHCP services between Windows
NT servers and clients running Windows 95. To configure the relay function, do the
following:
1 Configure VLANs and IP unicast routing.
2 Enable the DHCP or BOOTP relay function, using the following command:
enable bootprelay
3 Configure the addresses to which DHCP or BOOTP requests should be directed,
using the following command:
config bootprelay add
To delete an entry, use the following command:
config bootprelay delete { | all}
