Basic Chroma Keying Procedure
The following steps explain how to use Auto Setup to create an
excellent basic chroma key:
1.
Select the Keyer
[Key 1]
,
[Key 2]
, or
[DSK]
button to
delegate the keyer you want to use.
2.
Select a Key bus
[crosspoint]
to provide the chroma key
foreground and colored background video.
3.
Select a PGM bus
[crosspoint]
to supply the new
background video (or select a PST bus
[crosspoint]
if you
are previewing the key).
4.
Select the Keyer
[Chroma Key]
and
[Auto Setup]
buttons.
The joystick will automatically delegate to the Chroma Key
Auto Setup feature, and the Chroma Key menu will appear in
the visual display. In addition, a crosshair cursor will appear
on the Program video monitor.
NOTE:
If the key type buttons all turn off when you press
[Chroma
Key]
, the chroma keyer is already in use on another keyer. Only
one keyer at a time may use the chroma keyer.
5.
Use the joystick to move the Auto Setup monitor cursor over
the color in foreground video that will be keyed out. Then
push the “fire” button on the top of the joystick. There will be
a momentary delay, and then a finished chroma key will
appear on the monitor.
In many cases, no further adjustment of the key is needed.
However, if you want to fine tune certain aspects of the key,
refer to “Advanced Chroma Keying” in “Section 5 Advanced
Operations.”
