Port Configuration Menu
From the Configuration top menu, press [PORTS>] to display the
Port Configuration menu shown in Figure 3-33. This menu
permits you to set the communication parameters of each
switcher serial port.
Port Configuration Menu Functions:
(PORT)
—Scrolls through the serial ports in the display table,
highlighting the current selection.
(PROTOCOL)
—Selects the serial “language” to be used by the
highlighted port. Ports other than the panel port can be used for
any purpose but are typically set as follows:
TTY
—Any protocol. Select TERMINAL if connecting a terminal.
PANEL
—Fixed 1200 PNL protocol.
MODEM
—Any protocol. Select MODEM if connecting a modem.
EDITOR
—Any protocol. Select 1200 if connecting a Grass
Valley editor. 110 or 200 will also work but with less
functionality.
DPM
—Any protocol. Select DPM if connecting a DPM.
(ADDRESS)
—Sets the address for the highlighted port. Typically
external devices such as editors and digital picture manipulators
expect the switcher address to be 30H.
(BAUD RATE)
—Sets the baud rate (communication speed) for the
currently selected port.
[FACTORY DEFAULT]
—Resets the selected port to factory defaults.
(Soft knob buttons do not restore defaults if double-pressed.)
[BITS]
—Sets the number of data bits in each byte for the
highlighted port.
