In the window shown in Figure 11-5 , click Open to connect to the server. If the connection is normal,
you will be prompted to enter the username and password. After entering the correct username
(client001) and password (aabbcc), you can enter the configuration interface of the server.
When Switch Acts as Server for Publickey Authentication
Network requirements
z As shown in Figure 11-6 , a local SSH connection is established between the host (the SSH client)
and the switch (the SSH server) for secure data exchange.
z Publickey authentication is used, the algorithm is RSA.

Configuration procedure
During SSH server configuration, the client public key is required. Therefore, you are recommended to
use the client software to generate RSA key pairs on the client before configuring the SSH server.
1) Configure the SSH client
# Generate the RSA key pairs.
Run PuTTYGen.exe, select SSH-2 RSA and click Generate.
