By assigning a Clean Switch to a Source (input port), it is fed from that port and its output drives the
routing matrix.
This configuration is particularly useful with an asynchronous source. The frame sync feature of the
Clean Switch means that this source will now be synchronous and timed on any output it is switched
to.
This is essentially the same as placing an external frame sync upstream of that router input.
This technique can be further enhanced by the use of the Follow feature on an output port. When
a port is assigned to follow a Source which has a Clean Switch assigned, the follow output will pick
up the frame sync output, making the synchronized version of the signal available for external use
independently of any signal switching within the routing matrix.
