Although the 9430 Router Module must use a fixed (static) IP Address, it is possible to operate
the 5830 with either a static address or one that is automatically assigned by your network under
DHCP. If DHCP is selected from the Address Mode pull-down control, the 5830 will obtain an
address from the DHCP server on your network.
Our recommendation is to use a fixed (static) IP Address for the 5830 Control Panel.
2. Configure the fields in the Network settings window appropriately to your network. Gateway and
DNS Server fields are optional.
3. Be sure to double-check the IP Address and Subnet Mask before clicking Save Changes. At this
point, the browser connection will be lost. If you are using DHCP, you can determine what address
was generated by looking at the display on the 5830 itself.
4. Restore the controlling computer’s IP address to its previous settings in order to restore its network
connectivity. You will now be able to reconnect to the 5830 Control Panel’s Settings as needed by
navigating to its new IP Address.
