Label Printer - This is an optional printer used to print information onto self-adhesive labels.
This device would be connected to the AUX port if used. It should be capable of receiving full
duplex, ASCII, asynchronous data via an E.I.A. standard RS232 communication protocol. A
tractor feed mechanism will be necessary to move the labels through the printer. Adjustable
tractors are preferred over fixed tractors. This device should be U.L. Listed.
NOTE: The same printer can be used for a Hard-copy Printer and a Label Printer should you be
willing to switch between paper and labels.
COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL
In some instances where the MCE 300 will not be connected to a standard data terminal or when
connecting to a computer, it may be necessary to know the communication protocol of the unit.
There are no special characters transmitted to designate the beginning or end of data blocks.
Data is transmitted in the following format:
Serial Bit Format Per Character
1. One Start Bit
2. Eight Data Bits
3. One Stop Bit
Each character is echoed back to the transmitting device (MAIN Port). This checks the integrity
and enables a data terminal or CRT to display transmitted data.
