Running the Trend Test
To run the Trend test:
1. Click the
START
button. The screen changes, as shown in Figure 4-9.

While a test is running, screens cannot be changed until the
STOP
button that
appears at the bottom of the screen has been clicked.
During a trend test, the following values are reported to the user every time a breath
occurs:
Test Parameter
– This is the parameter that was chosen for running this test. This
value does not change during the test.
Current Value
– This is the current value of the chosen test parameter. Every time a
breath occurs, this is updated and compared against the initial value of the test parameter.
Starting Value
– Shows the initial value for the test parameter. This value does not
change during the test.
% Difference
– This value is calculated each time a breath occurs. If it is greater than
the % limit, an incident is reported.
% Limit
– This is the value entered before starting the test. It does not change during the
test.
# of Tests
– Incremented each time a breath is detected.
# of Incidents
– The number of incidents is incremented each time the percent
difference exceeds the percent limit.
Elapsed Time
– This value is updated continuously. It keeps track of the length of time
the current trend test has been run.
