Starting the Software
The software application is ready to start when the software has been installed and the
Analyzer connected.
The first time the software is used, the application attempts to establish communications
with the Analyzer and displays the following:

The software checks the serial communication ports (also called Comm Ports) listed in
the Windows Registry. If the software cannot find the Analyzer, the following screen
appears, allowing the Analyzer communication port to be designated:

Once the software has established communication with the Analyzer, an initialization file
is created that is read by the software during future use. The software uses the
information in the initialization file to know where to check for the Analyzer.
An error can occur if the communication port is in use by another device and/or software
application. If the communication port is already open, the following error is shown:

To solve this error, simply close the application that is using the desired communication
port. It should be noted that opening the VT for Windows PC software multiple times
would also cause the same error message.
