Text Enhancement
Enhances text recognition when scanning text
documents.
Threshold
Adjusts the level at which the black areas in text and
line art are delineated, improving text recognition in
OCR programs. This setting is available only when the
Image Type is set to Black&White.
Auto Area
Segmentation
Makes grayscale images clearer and text recognition
more accurate by scanning text in black & white while
retaining the grayscale of the image. (Available only
when you select Black&White as the Image Type
setting.)
Image Option > Color
Enhance
Enhances the color you select (red, green, or blue) in
the scan. (Available only when you select Grayscale or
Black&White as the Image Type setting.)
Image Option >
Dropout
Drops out the color you select (red, green, or blue)
from the scan. (Available only when you select
Grayscale or Black&White as the Image Type
setting.)
Click the Scan button to scan your document pages.
What happens next depends on how you started your scan.
If you started your scan by pressing the
Start button or running Epson Scan as a
standalone program, you see the File Save Settings window. See
If you started your scan from a scanning program such as ABBYY FineReader, your
scanned pages open in the program window. Click Close to close the Epson Scan
window and view your scanned pages in the program.
