5.4 Rigging and
Lifting
DANGER
If there is any visible damage or any question about the integrity
of a lifting point, DO NOT LIFT the system. Consult the factory.
Refer to Paragraph 5.1 for information on obtaining unit or corner weights.
IMPOR-
TANT NOTE: ALL systems MUST be loaded and unloaded by lifting. DO NOT attempt
to move with a fork lift.
Lifting lugs for attaching rigging are provided at each corner of the base.
ALL lifting
points MUST always be used. Spreader bars MUST be used to prevent cabinet dam-
age and to allow the unit to be lifted straight up with vertical force only on the lifting
points. Using ALL lifting points is mandatory.
Failure to lift by the manufacturer's instructions could cause damage to the equipment
and/or personal injury or death. The equipment manufacturer is not responsible for
unsafe rigging or lifting procedures.
In addition to checking the rigging, before lifting the unit, verify the following:
□
If the unit is being set on a down discharge curb and duct work is being installed
from the top, verify that the duct work is installed.
□
IMPORTANT: Verify that the lift operator knows the correct placement of the unit
so that the airflow orientation will be correct. To match to the duct openings in the
curb, the unit must be positioned as illustrated in
FIGURE 13, shown below.
Note that the condenser section does not set on the curb.
