15.1 Troubleshooting
Error message
Problem
Remedy
“Please check clock settings“
If you insert batteries at initial use
or if the gauge has been cut from
power supply for more than 5
minutes
Reset clock (s. section 10.5.3)
“Low Bat !!!”
Though you can continue to
measure, it is recommended to
change batteries. If battery
voltage is below minimum, the
gauge will switch off
automatically.
Change batteries. Dispose
batteries according to your local
regulations.
“Please hold probe in air(infinite
range) !! “
(Briefly appears on display at
switch on)
Please check
a) whether you have removed the
shielding tube or protection cap
b) whether a target ball is
positioned on the sensor tip
c) whether the sensor tip is in
contact with a steel part

c) Enlarge distance between
sensor head and steel part
Now the message on display
should disappear and the
sensor is ready for
measurement.
“Confirm sensor in infinite range”
a) a target ball is placed on the
sensor tip or the sensor is near an
ferritic object or magnetic field.
b) Infinite adjustment required.

The message does not
disappear, and the following
message appears after about
10 sec:
“Make sure there is no target ball
near the sensor.
Please keep the sensor away
from metallic objects or magnetic
fields.”
