Perform final installation of APs
If the RSSI testing was satisfactory for your facility, qualified personnel can complete the
final installation of the APs. APs are typically mounted in one of three places:
• On the wall
• On the ceiling
• For suspended ceilings, just above the ceiling.
WARNING Do not install an access point or access point antenna closer than 2
feet from any location where people frequent. Installation closer than 2 feet could
result in exposure to levels of radio frequency energy that are higher than
recommended by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). For example,
installation on an 8-foot ceiling is acceptable, but on top of the desk at the nurses
station is not.
