S-5500 SSG and Captured Corner Mullion Installation Instructions
Section IX: Vertical Splice Joints
Installation for Captured System
Note: The adapter reglets on
both sides of the corner mullion
must be free of sealant
obstructions before placing the
corner mullion adapters.
Apply sealant into the
mullion splice joint, and
tool smooth.
Extend sealant back 1”
from glazing pocket.
STEP #4 SEAL MULLION SPLICE SLEEVE
A. Apply sealant into the mullion splice joint, and tool the joint. Do not obstruct the corner
mullion adapter reglets. The sealant must extend back 1” along the side of the mullion
from the glazing pocket.
