Prepare Hitch
Disconnect Hose Fittings at Hitch
The existing fan hoses may be used to connect the new
PTO pump to hydraulic motors on the planter. The
hitch-end fittings are modified for this purpose.
Any other hydraulic motor circuits at the hitch, such as
hydraulic drive, are not re-used, and are left as-is at the
hitch end. They are capped at the rear ends.
Refer to Figure 20
Three fan hoses (supply, return and case drain) run from
the fan to the hitch. All fittings forward of the crimped-on
MORBs
are removed. These hoses are later
re-connected to the pump or reservoir supplied with the
PTO kit.
Newer planters have a polymer hose handle
on the fan
supply QD at the hitch. They may also have a handle on
the return line. Older planters do not have hose handles.
8.
Set out an oil collection bucket near the hitch ends
of the hoses.
9.
Remove any hose handle housings
.
10. Disconnect the hoses from the hitch fittings at the
MORB connectors
crimped on the hoses. Drain
the removed fittings and hose ends using the
bucket. Set the open hose ends in the bucket.
Install Pump Storage Mount
Storage mount installation varies by planter frame type.
