packaged with power cords rated at 10 amps. Older model BackPacks utilized 10
amp-rated power cords that are NOT approved for use with current model BackPacks
on 110–130-volt power systems. The standard 10 amp power cords are acceptable
for use with the Fiber Transceiver. Refer to the Safety Guidelines on page 4 for more
information.
The maximum steady-state current draw of a single fully loaded Cage ranges between
6 and 8 amps at 120 VAC, based on the level of user activity. The peak initial current
draw is 12 amps. (See Table 3 Power and Cooling Requirements – R1200 on page 36
for more information.) If you are placing multiple Cages on a single power circuit,
make sure that the circuit can safely handle the combined currents of all the
equipment. Therefore, if you place two Cages on a single branch circuit, it must be
able to support a peak current of 25 amps at 120 VAC.
