When the adapter cannot be installed in the drive (for example, a
PowerFlex 4 or PowerFlex 4M drive) but operated in Single mode, the
adapter can be installed in a DSI External Comms Kit (
Figure 7.2 ).

Figure 7.3 shows that the Single operating mode provides the possibility
of connecting one additional external peripheral.
