Locking cell data
Protect data or formulas from accidental changes by locking cells. To lock a
cell or a range of cells, select the cells, then choose Lock Cells from the Options
menu. To unlock a protected cell or cell range, select the cells and then
choose Unlock Cells from the Options menu.
Naming cells and ranges
You can assign a name to any cell or range of cells. Naming cells can
help you:

remember the purpose of data in a particular cell or range

visually locate a named cell or range

simplify formulas by using named cells instead of cell addresses

Choose Index from the Help menu and type the first few letters of the entry. Double-click the
entry and then double-click a topic.
