2 Installation
and
Configuration
Installation of EA can be done either using the Wizard Installation, Manual Installation or IPSETUP. The
Wizard Installation automates most of the install steps but requires Java Run Time on the PC where the
installer is run. Configuration data is collected through user input and then the particular configuration files of
WVP are updated and pushed to the NonStop server. This process greatly simplifies and streamlines the EA
install process.
2-1 Considerations & Requirements
The user should read the following section before starting the install process to understand the
basic requirements and to make the proper preparations. Network configuration details are needed
in order to complete the install therefore it is important to have this information ready and available
before starting the install process.
Review the file USRGUIDE.PDF (in the subdirectory NSK_SW on this CD) containing the
IPSetup User Guide, which provides instructions for using IPSetup, a utility provided on the CD
that enables installation of Independent Products. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read
or print the IPSetup User Guide. Visit Adobe's website to download the latest Adobe Acrobat
Reader: http://www.adobe.com
Decide whether you will use DSM/SCM to move files to Installation Subvolumes (ISVs) after
files are placed on the workstation. Using DSM/SCM is optional, but is recommended when
DSM/SCM is available.

2-1-1-4 General Considerations
EA uses ActiveX controls and JavaScript. This will require enabling both ActiveX and
JavaScript on the browser (Internet Explorer) if it’s not enabled already. For ActiveX
controls, the browser security should allow the download of signed ActiveX control
and run ActiveX controls. If WVP is already being accessed from the same PC,
ActiveX and JavaScript will be enabled already.
