1-2 Install Process Overview
1-2-1 General
There are three ways to install the product: Wizard Installation, Manual Installation and IPSETUP.
a) Wizard Installation is the recommended install process; see
for details.
Wizard Installation will guide you through each step of the process allowing you to set
parameters as you move from one step to the next.
b) For manual installation please refer to
. In this installation, you are required to
transfer files and run a process to change the WVP configuration and obey files.
c) For IPSETUP, please refer to
. IPSETUP.exe can be used to install EA via
DSM/SCM.
1-2-2 First Time User Considerations
If this is the first time installing the product please review and take note of the following
considerations:
WVP should be installed and running before EA is installed.
1-2-3 Uninstall Considerations
During uninstall, be aware that in addition to the data files created in the EA installation
subvolume, action event log files, named EAyymmdd.EAACT (subvolume.filename), may be
created in the volume specified on EA Admin Configuration screen. Consider the deletion of these
log files while uninstalling EA.
1-3 Getting Started
Here is some of the basic information about your NonStop node that is needed before starting your
install:
Node
Name
IP or Fully Qualified DNS Name
Installation Volume and Subvolume (target directory)
User Name and Password
Location (volume-subvolume) where Web ViewPoint is installed
